The launch of the Hiking Trails of Mainland Nova Scotia was a great success with several events and hikes taking place between October 22 and November 4. The book launch event itself took place on October 22 with over 60 in attendance to view a presentation by the trail book author Michael Haynes. The Halifax Outdoor Adventurers came out in force and managed to get books signed and a photo taken with the author. Michael went on to accompany three hikes where books were sold and signed and folks enjoyed Nova Scotia beautiful trails. These included:
- Oct. 27 on the Rogart Trail in Earltown with the Cobequid Eco-Trails Society and 60 to 70 people
- Oct. 28 at Cape Split in Scott’s Bay with the Valley Trekkers Volkssport Club and about 20 people
- Nov. 4 on The Bluff Trail in Timberlea with the Woodens River Watershed Environmental Organization and over 75 people
