Trail Name: Gabarus – Gull Cove Trail

Location: Gabarus, Cape Breton

Description: This 10 kilometre (return) trail leads to the ruins of an old abandoned fishing village called Gull Cove. The trail takes you along the ocean, through fields and woods, and is relatively flat and gentle. It’s located in the Gabarus Wilderness Protected Area.

  1. Hikers should know that the first portion of this trail is exceedingly wet. This is one of the driest summers in many years, but many many portions of the trail are under water, forcing hikers to make their way along the overgrown edges of the path. Good footgear is a must.
